If the labrum is in poor condition or is severely damaged, labral reconstruction may be an option. During this procedure, the damaged part of the labrum will be removed and healthy tissue from another part of your body will be attached to reconstruct the labrum. The surgeon will then implant anchors to the hip socket and connect the labrum to the anchor points. Like other surgical procedures, this surgery comes with a risk of infection and other complications, as well as a lengthy recovery period.
